Amex GBT (“GBT”) Tax comprises a team of 12 tax professionals, located in the UK and North America, whose responsibility is to manage GBT’s global tax affairs, comprising tax reporting, compliance, planning and advice to the business. GBT Tax is also supported by a Tax Centre of Excellence based in India.

GBT has been listed on the NYSE since May 2022 and comprises a US domiciled holding company at the head of what is a truly international group. GBT is growing significantly, both organically and through acquisition.

As a result of the growing business, in an increasingly demanding digital environment, a vacancy has arisen for a Tax Data Analyst based in the Centre of Excellence in India.

This is a hands-on role, that will support the delivery of a critical Group Tax initiatives to ensure GBT is ready to meet its Tax Compliance and Reporting requirements.

Support the development of technology and data skills within the Group Tax team, equipping teams with data modelling, analytics and visualisation tools required to deliver value to the business through data insights, opportunity identification, tax forecasting and scenario modelling.

What You’ll do on a Typical Day:

• Analysing and translating business requirements into long term solution data models
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and technology teams to deliver solutions
• Building automation and workflows to uplift data control gaps and to facilitate complex tax calculations and tax reporting obligations
• Implementing data strategies and converting logical models into physical data models
• Working with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
  
  
  

What We’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines
• 3+ years of experience
• Experience with one or more mainstream programming languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL and Altyrex preferred
• Experience in a visualisation tools such as Tableau/Power BI
• Experience dealing with data (structured or unstructured)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholders
• Strong sense of ownership and driven to manage tasks to completion
