We are a series-A funded start-up, building new fintech products for small businesses. Founders are IIT-IIM alumni, with prior experience across management consulting, venture capital and fintech startups. Responsibilities:

Maintain a very high bar for the quality of the code. Make sure the right technical architecture and design patterns are used for building a feature. Be an active code-reviewer for your team.

Plan and execute the release, rollback and migration meticulously.

Follow the agile rituals including Sprint Grooming, Sprint Planning and Retrospective religiously. Work backwards from the sprint timelines and ensures that there are no spills from the sprint

Own the product metrics along with the product manager. Brainstorm and align the product solutions with PMs during product discovery.

Ensures that production bugs are kept at minimum (Sentry Issues + L2 Issues). Also, make sure that the production bugs are resolved with detailed RCA with highest priority

Track key engineering metrics like API Latency, Error throughput, code complexity

Lead the sprint planning meeting by breaking down the user stories and tasks into smaller tasks and assigning appropriate story points.

Lead the daily standup to get daily updates from team and unblock team members wherever required. Ensure high work discipline and intensity in every team members.

Give appropriate and timely feedback to team members to ensure high efficiency, speed and quality of the work.

Maintain prioritized tech backlog including tech debts and pick up in the sprints as and when required.

Maintain a healthy conflict with PMs and business teams to ensure high business impact of the engineering teams’ work.

Qualifications:

7+ years of engineering experience, a startup experience is a plus.

Strong people management skills including hiring, growing and mentoring managers, leaders, and engineers.

Communication skills that demonstrate emotional intelligence and compassion to build trust, resolve conflicts, and provide feedback to your team

Experience in Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform tools

Strong first-hand experience with data pipelines and relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server or MySQL

Experience with DevOps tools (GitHub, Travis CI, and Jenkins)

Experience working in Agile and Scrum development process

Basic understanding of Kubernetes & docker is a must
