Role Overview
The Technical Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end technical design, development, and implementation of robotics and STEM education programs. This includes managing robot kit development, supporting competition teams, leading technical training, and ensuring smooth technical execution during events and workshops.
The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a passion for education and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Delivery
- Lead the technical development and support for STEM and robotics-based educational programs.
- Oversee hardware and software integration for robotics kits and learning platforms.
- Define standards and ensure quality control in product development and deployment.
Training & Mentorship
- Design and deliver training sessions for mentors, educators, and students on robotics hardware, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Develop learning materials including tutorials, manuals, and videos for self-paced and instructor-led sessions.
Event Technical Management
- Manage technical setup and operation of STEM competitions, expos, and bootcamps.
- Supervise robot inspections, game element assembly, scoring systems, and field management during live events.
Curriculum & Content Support
- Collaborate with content and education teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and learning outcomes.
- Contribute to development of structured modules in robotics, coding, AI/ML, IoT, and emerging tech.
Team Leadership & Vendor Coordination
- Lead a small team of engineers, interns, and support staff.
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for component sourcing, kit assembly, and logistics.
Product Innovation & R&D
- Participate in the development of new educational tools and platforms, including mobile apps, simulations, and AR/VR-based experiences.
- Keep up with advancements in educational technology and robotics, incorporating best practices into programs.
Candidate ProfileRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field).
- 4–7 years of experience in robotics, STEM education, product development, or technical project management.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, Blockly) and electronics platforms (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.).
- Experience in CAD software (e.g., Onshape, Fusion 360) and troubleshooting of hardware/software systems.

- Experience in education, especially hands-on teaching or mentoring in robotics/STEM programs.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in dynamic environments with a problem-solving mindset.
- Willingness to travel for events, training, and on-site program delivery.
