Overview
A Desktop Support Engineer's primary role is to provide technical support and maintain the smooth functioning of desktop systems within an organization. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring operating systems and applications, and assisting users with various IT-related problems. Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting:Identifying and resolving hardware and software issues, including network connectivity problems, application malfunctions, and security concerns.
- System Installation and Configuration:Setting up new computers, installing operating systems, software, and drivers, and configuring peripherals like printers and scanners.
- Software and Hardware Upgrades:Implementing software patches and updates, upgrading hardware components, and ensuring system compatibility.
- User Support:Providing technical assistance to end-users, answering their questions, and guiding them on how to use software and hardware effectively.
- Remote Troubleshooting:Resolving issues remotely using tools like TeamViewer or similar, assisting users without being physically present.
- Documentation and Training:Creating user guides, troubleshooting guides, and providing training on new software or hardware to end-users.
- Security:Ensuring the security of desktop systems by installing and maintaining antivirus software, firewalls, and other security measures.
- Networking:Troubleshooting network connectivity issues, ensuring proper network configuration, and assisting with network upgrades.
- Inventory Management:Maintaining an inventory of hardware and software assets within the organization.
- Collaboration:Working with other IT staff, vendors, and end-users to ensure smooth operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹10,250.65 - ₹20,000.00 per month
