TV Application Developer (Apple TV Focus + Android TV Support)

Overview

Role Overview

We are looking for a TV Application Developer with a strong inclination towards Apple TV (tvOS) development, along with exposure to Android TV (React Native).

You will primarily work on building a high-performance Apple TV app using Swift, while also contributing to our existing React Native-based Android TV application.

This role is ideal for someone interested in OTT platforms, video streaming, and large-screen user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Apple TV (Primary Focus)

• Build and maintain Apple TV (tvOS) applications using Swift & Xcode
• Implement focus-based navigation (Apple TV remote interactions)
• Develop TV-optimized UI components and layouts
• Integrate video playback using AVPlayer / AVKit
• Handle animations, transitions, and focus states
• Optimize performance for smooth playback and navigation

Android TV (Secondary – Existing RN App)

• Work on existing React Native TV application (~60% built)
• Fix focus/navigation issues (DPAD handling)
• Improve performance and UI responsiveness
• Integrate APIs and enhance existing features

Must-Have Skills

• Basic knowledge of Swift OR React Native (JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Familiarity with Xcode or Android development tools
• Understanding of REST APIs & JSON
• Basic knowledge of Git/GitHub
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Good to Have (Highly Preferred)

• Exposure to tvOS development
• Understanding of Apple TV Focus Engine
• Experience with video playback (AVKit / AVFoundation / ExoPlayer)
• Knowledge of React Native TV / Android TV
• Understanding of remote-based navigation UX
• Interest in OTT / streaming platforms

Bonus Skills

• Kotlin (Android native development)
• SwiftUI / UIKit
• Experience with performance optimization for large-screen apps

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT (or equivalent practical experience)
