- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of Python developers.
- Mentor junior developers in best practices, coding standards, and problem-solving techniques.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
- Effectively communicates with team members, customers, partners and management, including assisting with or conducting more complex technical walkthroughs, reporting project status, enabling vendor solutions and providing accurate and concise documentation.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient Python-based applications and services.
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs using Python frameworks.
- Experience with API gateways such as Axway.
- Document and maintain APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify and address underlying problems.
- Develop and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA engineers, and operations teams.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- Identify opportunities to improve development processes, tools, and technologies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Python trends and technologies.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and coding standards.
- Performs work in compliance with all Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies and procedures.
- Implement and manage secure configuration using tools like Conjur.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices.
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related field
- 7+ years of experience Python development.
- Strong understanding of Python programming concepts, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in writing unit tests and integration tests.
- Experience with API development and documentation tools (e.g., Axway, Swagger/OpenAPI).
- Experience with secure configuration management tools (e.g., Conjur, CyberArk Privileged Access Security).
- Experience with Python libraries for PDF manipulation (e.g., PyPDF2, ReportLab, pikepdf).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience leading a team of developers.
- Experience with Project Management tools
