AI Engineer - Internship

About the internship:

Join our founding team as an AI Engineer Intern and gain hands-on experience at the forefront of LLM development. You'll work directly with founders and senior AI engineers to learn fine-tuning, evaluation, and optimization of large language models. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI research while learning from industry experts in a fast-paced startup environment.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Work closely with the founding team on real AI model development projects
2. Assist in fine-tuning LLMs under guidance from senior engineers
3. Support model evaluation and benchmarking efforts across different architectures
4. Learn advanced optimization techniques like LoRA, QLoRA, and parameter-efficient methods
5. Gain exposure to RLHF workflows and human preference learning
6. Participate in training pipeline development and understand the full model lifecycle
7. Contribute to research experiments and help implement cutting-edge techniques
8. Support the creation of new AI solutions that solve real-world problems
9. Present findings and participate in technical discussions with the team

What We're Looking For

1. Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree from IIT, NIT, BITS, or equivalent in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field
2. Strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and mathematics
3. Solid foundation in linear algebra, statistics, and optimization
4. Final year undergrad or recent graduate preferred
5. Strong Python programming skills with experience in machine learning libraries
6. Academic or project experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
7. Understanding of neural network architectures and training processes
8. Familiarity with Transformers and attention mechanisms (through coursework or projects)
9. Basic knowledge of LLMs and their applications
10. Experience with Jupyter notebooks and experimental workflows
11. Personal projects involving fine-tuning or working with pre-trained models
12. Research experience or publications in AI/ML (even if academic)
13. Participation in ML competitions (Kaggle, hackathons, etc.)
14. Open-source contributions to AI/ML projects
15. Any exposure to LoRA, QLoRA, or RLHF concepts (even theoretical)
16. Internship experience at AI/ML companies or research labs
