Primary Responsibilities

• Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
• Design and operate an Azure + Databricks Lakehouse using bronze/silver/gold architecture, governed by Unity Catalog and Purview
• Build batch and streaming data pipelines (ADF, Structured Streaming) with automated data‑quality checks, CI/CD, observability, and version control
• Data Modeling & BI Enablement
• Develop curated datasets, semantic models, and dimensional models aligned to business needs
• Implement RLS/OLS and deployment pipelines to support enterprise‑scale reporting in Power BI
• Database Management
• Manage PostgreSQL schemas, performance tuning, indexing, and replication strategies
• Implement CDC pipelines from PostgreSQL to Lakehouse/Synapse.
• Data Quality, Governance & Security
• Establish data SLAs and perform automated checks (accuracy, completeness, timeliness)
• Enforce enterprise security baselines: Managed Identities, Private Endpoints, Key Vault, least‑privilege access
• Maintain governance compliance via Unity Catalog/Purview with ≥95% metadata completeness
• Operations, Observability & Cost Optimization
• Monitor and optimize costs across clusters, pipelines, and storage tiers
• Drive observability through alerts, logging, lineage tracking, SLOs, and incident management
• Implement cluster policies, autoscaling, storage lifecycle tiering, and reserved capacity when beneficial
• Collaboration & Documentation
• Work with product owners and data stewards to standardize business metrics
• Document datasets, transformations, lineage, and maintain certified datasets
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Technical Skills
• Hands‑on experience with:
• Azure (ADF, Data Lake, Synapse)
• Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, Structured Streaming)
• Power BI (data modeling, DAX, RLS/OLS)
• PostgreSQL (schema design, optimization, replication)
• Understanding of data‑engineering best practices: CI/CD, testing (unit/integration), blue‑green deployments
• Familiarity with governance tools like Unity Catalog and Purview.
• Security & Compliance Knowledge
• Understanding of access controls, key rotation, secret management
• Awareness of privacy and compliance frameworks (GDPR‑like controls for PII)
