Data Governance Analyst

As a Data Governance Analyst you will be responsible in supporting and execution of the Data Trust & Integrity Use Case program within our organisation.

Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you will work with our internal partners to understand our data issues, help negotiate organisation wide data definitions, and identify opportunities for improved data governance and quality monitoring across the organisation.

The successful candidate will join a small high-performance team who are tasked with championing and showcasing the benefits of data governance and quality, helping to deliver a broad portfolio of use cases that deliver tangible and meaningful benefits to the organisation. Working from a business benefits prioritized pipeline, you will be confident supporting the discovery and definition for individual use cases, with support from the wider team for the technical execution of recommendations and monitoring.

• Identification and Definition of Critical Data Elements (CDEs): Assisting in identifying and defining CDEs across the organisation. Working with business and technical stakeholders to ensure CDEs are well-documented and understood.
• Verification of Data Lineage: Supporting in verifying data lineage to ensure data traceability from source to destination. Recommendation of authorised sources for data elements based on lineage verification.
• Defining Data Quality Business Rules: Collaboration with business users to define and document data quality business rules. Ensuring that data quality rules align with business requirements and regulatory standards.
• Identification of Data Owners and Data Stewards: Assisting in identifying potential data owners and data stewards within the organisation. Facilitating communications and collaboration between data owners, stewards, and governance teams.
• Collaboration with Technical Teams: Working closely with technical teams to deliver data quality reporting and alerting solutions. Assisting in the development and implementation of automated data quality checks.
• Identification of KPIs for Data Improvement: Identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track the progress of data quality and governance initiatives. Monitoring and reporting on data improvement KPIs to stakeholders.
• Recommendation of Data Governance Controls: Recommending appropriate data governance controls to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Supporting the implementation and monitoring of data governance controls.

• Experience working within a team that has implemented data governance and quality initiatives in diverse data environments.
• Proven experience in data cleansing and enrichment to address data quality issues.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver data profiling and data quality reporting.
• Working knowledge of data quality and profiling tools such as SǪL, Ataccama, Informatica, and Monte Carlo.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools for creating dashboards and reports, like Power BI and Tableau.
• Familiarity with data management tools and frameworks, including Precisely, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica Data Governance, and DCAM.
• Strong understanding of data governance and quality principles, practices, and methodologies.
• Insight into data governance and quality policies, frameworks, processes, and controls.
• Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM) principles, practices, and methodologies.
• Experience in managing both business and technical stakeholders effectively.

Desired:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data management, or a related field
• Professional certification in data governance or related fields is a plus.
• Experience in a complex, global, scale B2C on-line and retail business/es
• Experience with data quality automation and/or AI tools to streamline data quality processes
