About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team in Chennai. This is a work-from-office position located in the Nungambakkam area. You will be responsible for leveraging data to solve complex business challenges, driving strategic decisions, and creating innovative solutions. You will work on the full lifecycle of data science projects, from problem formulation and data collection to model development, deployment, and monitoring. We are looking for candidates who can join immediately and have a strong ability to work collaboratively and lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Take on a leadership role within the data science team, guiding junior members and ensuring project success.
• Problem Solving: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and formulate data-driven solutions.
• Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Model Development: Design, develop, and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive systems.
• ETL & Data Pipelines: Be well-versed in the ETL process to build and maintain data pipelines for efficient data flow.
• Data Visualization: Utilize Tableau Prep, Desktop, and Server to create compelling data visualizations and interactive dashboards.
• Communication: Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, telling a clear and compelling story with data.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, software developers, product managers, and business analysts.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and apply them to business problems.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 2-5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with a proven track record of team leadership.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Strong proficiency in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Proven experience with the ETL process and building data pipelines.
• Data Visualization: In-depth knowledge of and hands-on experience with the Tableau suite, including Tableau Prep, Desktop, and Server.
• Machine Learning: Deep knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis).
• Statistical Analysis: Strong foundation in statistical concepts, including hypothesis testing, experimental design, and predictive modeling.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data science services.
• Knowledge of MLOps tools and practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Airflow).
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Proven experience in a team leadership or mentorship role.

Pay: From ₹450,000.00 per year
