DevOps Engineer (GCP)

Overview

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and secure access controls. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable deployments, efficient repository management, and robust identity and access governance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure on GCP (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance

2. CI/CD & Repository Management

• Manage source code repositories (GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket)
• Design branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based development)
• Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines (Cloud Build / Jenkins / GitHub Actions)
• Enforce code quality, versioning, and release management best practices

3. Cloud Access & Security Management

• Implement and manage IAM policies in GCP
• Define RBAC and least-privilege access
• Integrate with identity providers (SSO, OAuth)
• Manage service accounts, API keys, and secrets (Secret Manager)
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.

4. Monitoring, Logging & Reliability

• Set up monitoring and alerting (Cloud Monitoring & Cloud Logging)
• Troubleshoot deployment and runtime issues
• Optimize system performance and cost
• Implement incident response and root cause analysis (RCA)

5. Collaboration & DevOps Culture

• Work closely with development, QA, and security teams
• Promote DevOps best practices and automation
• Document processes, runbooks, and architecture

Experience & Soft Skills

• 2-4 years in DevOps / Cloud Engineering
• 1+ years hands-on with GCP
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting
• Good communication and collaboration
