Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Scrum Master with 8+ years of experience in Agile environments, particularly working with fast-paced, cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on continuous improvement, with a proven track record of using Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, and cycle time to drive measurable enhancements in team performance. Experience in the banking or financial services domain is a strong plus. Expertise in JIRA and Confluence is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Serve as a servant-leader and coach to Agile teams, promoting collaboration, innovation, and ownership.
- Drive continuous improvement by tracking Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time) and implementing data-driven enhancements.
- Partner closely with Product Owners to ensure backlogs are well-groomed, prioritized, and aligned with business goals.
- Remove team impediments, shield the team from distractions, and escalate risks or blockers when necessary.
- Standardize Scrum practices and contribute to organizational Agile maturity.
- Ensure high-quality documentation and transparency using JIRA and Confluence (must-have).
- Foster a culture of open communication, feedback, and shared accountability.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile software development environments.
- Proven track record working with fast-paced delivery teams and delivering high-impact results.
- Strong command of Agile principles, Scrum practices, and related frameworks (Kanban, SAFe is a plus).
- Demonstrated experience using Agile metrics to improve performance.
- E.g., improved velocity through actionable retrospectives.
- E.g., reduced delivery cycle time by optimizing workflow and WIP limits.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence is required.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive mindset.
- Experience in the banking or financial services sector is a plus.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with scaled Agile environments (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).
- Background in software engineering or technical project delivery.
- Exposure to DevOps or Agile Quality practices.
