Overview
Job Title: IT System Administrator / IT Infrastructure AdministratorJob Summary:
The IT System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the organisation’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of network systems, servers, storage, power backup, and end-user support while coordinating with vendors and handling IT asset management.
Key Responsibilities Network & Security Management
- Manage and maintain Sophos XGS2100 firewall, including security policies, VPNs, and threat protection
- Administer D-Link unmanaged switches and Cisco 1Gbps managed/unmanaged switches.
- Configure and support Netgear wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, uptime, and security compliance
- Administer Windows Server environments
- Manage Active Directory, including users, groups, and permissions.
- Configure and maintain DHCP, Group Policies, and FTP Server.
- Ensure server availability, patching, and performance optimization.
- Manage NAS storage systems.
- Plan and implement data backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitor storage utilisation and data integrity
- Maintain and monitor 20 KVA UPS power backup systems.
- Ensure proper power redundancy and uptime for IT infrastructure
- Manage CCTV systems and DVRs, including monitoring and troubleshooting
- Administer biometric attendance and access control systems.
- Maintain EPABX / telecom systems for internal communication
- Provide IT infrastructure support and resolve service tickets related to network, servers, security, printers, and hardware
- Manage printer installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests as per defined SLAs
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory (hardware, software, licenses)
- Ensure IT security best practices, access control, and compliance
- Perform periodic audits and risk assessments Procurement & Vendor Management
- Handle procurement of IT infrastructure, hardware, and services.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and OEMs
- Manage vendor negotiations, renewals, and service contracts Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, and switching technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Experience in storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with CCTV, biometric systems, and telecom solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective vendor management and negotiation abilities.
- Good documentation and asset management skills Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Networking, Security) are an added advantage
