Role Overview

Our digital platforms are the face of our enterprise applications. A modern, intuitive, and responsive user interface directly impacts adoption, customer experience, and business outcomes.

This Junior Full Stack Developer will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging UI experiences backed by scalable APIs and services, working closely with backend and integration teams to build our strategic product in Merck landscape.

This position is ideal for someone eager to grow in both frontend and backend skills.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development (Primary Focus)

• Develop responsive and interactive web applications using React.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into functional features.
• Implement state management (Redux or Context API) and handle API data rendering.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, accessibility (WCAG standards), and performance optimization.
• Design and implement high-quality, maintainable, and scalable frontend solutions using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and NodeJS.
• Utilize strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns to develop efficient, high-performance applications.
• Contribute in architectural discussions and provide solutions for complex technical challenges.
• Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
• Integrate testing processes into the development workflow, optimizing for automated testing and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with software architecture and solution design, especially in cloud environments and microservices and integration methods.
  
  

Backend & API Integration (Secondary Focus)

• Build and maintain basic Java/Spring Boot microservices under senior developer guidance.
• Integrate UI with RESTful APIs (MuleSoft or backend services) securely and efficiently.
• Assist in writing unit tests for backend services and API endpoints.
  
  

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

• Work closely with backend, integration, and DevOps teams to deliver full-stack features.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Follow code quality standards and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for new features and enhancements.
  
  

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Write unit and integration tests for UI components (Jest, React Testing Library).
• Optimize front-end performance (lazy loading, bundling, caching).
• Document UI components, APIs, and development workflows.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3-7 years experience in frontend or full-stack development.
• Strong skills in React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• Basic exposure to Java/Spring Boot and REST API development.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Eagerness to learn backend technologies and cloud platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 3-7 years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and NodeJS.
• Proven experience in software architecture and solution design.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira for project management and issue tracking.
• Understanding of testing processes and best practices in software development.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and tools for deployment and versioning management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting ideas and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with modern product development (test driven development , agile, UX, design thinking, product management)
• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud solutions (Containerization, Microservices)
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux).
• Understanding of responsive design and web performance optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with backend technologies and integration methods (e.g., RESTful APIs).
