A Day in the Life

We're seeking a dynamic Mobile Application Developer with a deep passion for crafting exceptional mobile experiences through native code and a keen interest in exploring cross platform solutions like React Native (preferred), Xamarin and Flutter.

This role is tailored for a developer who excels in creating robust, native applications for iOS and Android, and is also adept at leveraging React Native to produce high-quality, cross-platform apps.

With 6+ years of development experience, you will be instrumental in driving our mobile app projects from inception through to launch, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and user engagement.

You will work with other development team members to design, develop, test, and launch new

functionality for our platform. This position will be in our Pune Office

In this role candidates will:

  • Develop application code according to requirements and assigned tasks.

  • Contribute to lifecycle Flow and value streams by following and prescribing methodologies and best practices.

  • Solve the difficult software development challenges.

  • Maintain balance of business and technical acumen in decision making.

  • Contribute to source code management and work item tracking best practices.

  • Contribute to the estimation process during planning exercises.

  • Provide consultation with the development management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Code Analysis & Translation: Thoroughly analyze the existing legacy Android application's codebase (Java/Kotlin, old Android SDK/Framework classes) to understand its architecture, functionalities, and underlying business logic.

  • React Native Development: Translate complex Android functionalities, UI/UX, and business logic into efficient, maintainable, and scalable React Native components and modules.

  • Migration Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a phased migration strategy, identifying key modules and features for incremental transition, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

  • Native Module Development (Bridging): Create and maintain native modules (Java/Kotlin for Android) to bridge the gap between React Native and any platform-specific functionalities or legacy code that cannot be directly translated.

  • Performance Optimization: Measure and optimize the react native application performance , focusing on responsiveness, battery life, and resource utilization .

  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Implement robust testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E) for the migrated components and the overall application on both Android and potentially iOS.

  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose and resolve complex issues that arise during the migration process, including those related to legacy Android code, React Native, and native module interactions.

  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for the new React Native codebase, migration process, and any custom native modules.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, UI/UX designers, and other developers to ensure the successful delivery of the migrated application.

Must Have Skills:

  • A total of 5 years of hands-on experience in mobile application development in React Native development framework.

  • Good understanding in at least one native mobile development framework, including language , Swift / Objective-C for iOS, Or Kotlin / Java for Android.

  • A solid understanding of mobile app architecture, design patterns, and best practices, with the ability to apply these concepts in both native and cross-platform development.

  • Experience with state management, UI design, and performance optimization in React Native environments.

  • Familiarity with integrating native SDKs, third-party libraries, and APIs in both native and cross-platform contexts.

  • Experience with bug tracking and version control software ( e.g. Git)

  • Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP), XML, and JSON.

  • Architect’s solutions to maximize scalability, performance, and security.

  • Understanding of Object-oriented programming (OOP) design and principles

  • Authentication using SAML and Authorization using OAuth 2.0

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with t horough attention to detail, quality, and precision

  • Ability to manage multiple dat a -driven tasks concurrently.

  • Good communication and documentation skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-starter with a natural willingness to get the job done.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, Agile team environment

Nice to have:

  • E xperience with cross-platform development frameworks, specifically Flutter would be an added advantage.

  • Prior e xperience with Event Management software systems, membership management systems, or other association software tools.
