We work across business and technology units to ensure 24x7 uptime, security, and innovation for all API-related services powered by Google Apigee. Impact (Job Summary/Why This Role Matters)

As an API architect, your role will define the enterprise’s API-first and event-driven architecture roadmap. You will guide teams to adopt standards that enable performance, observability, and governance while influencing technology direction, platform decisions, and strategic investments across the integration ecosystem.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Define and lead API/integration architecture strategy using multiple API Gateways like Apigee, Mulesoft.
• Enable scalable, reusable, and secure integration solutions using API-led and event-driven principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Security, Infrastructure, and Product Owners to align with enterprise roadmaps.
• Establish patterns and reference architectures for API gateways, microservices, and hybrid integration.
• Own architectural governance for API standards, design guidelines, and security principles.
• Drive adoption of best practices around zero-trust architecture, observability, and compliance.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineering teams on API design, documentation, and deployment.
• Evaluate emerging integration technologies and lead PoCs for innovation opportunities and various initiatives.

• 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise integration architectures.
• Expertise in Apigee, Mulesoft.
• Proficiency in modern architecture principles: event-driven, API-first, reusable integrations, and secure design.
• Experience with API design standards (OpenAPI/Swagger), OAuth2, JWT, mTLS.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native development, CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with enterprise security, governance, and DevSecOps best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation.
