Senior Back End Developer (Python)

Overview

Position – Senior Backend Developer 

Experience   – 5 years+  

Location   – Remote

At  Quadrical AI , we’re using AI & digital twins to help renewable energy companies improve generation, reliability, & asset performance at scale. We’re looking for an experienced  Senior Backend Developer  to help architect & scale the core backend systems that power our platform. 

This role is designed for experienced engineers who prefer strong ownership, independent execution, & working on backend systems at scale. With a working office in Gurugram & Canada, we are offering this position as fully remote—focused on outcomes, impact, & flexibility rather than location. Thus, enabling you to build impactful technology while maintaining a healthy work-life balance from wherever you choose to work. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Design & implement efficient & scalable backend applications using Python. 
2. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. 
3. Develop & maintain REST APIs. 
4. Build & maintain databases [like PostgreSQL, MySQL] & data models. 
5. Write unit tests & ensure code coverage. 
6. Troubleshoot & debug issues reported by customers or internal teams. 
7. Continuously learn & adopt new technologies & tools to improve our development processes & software quality. 

Key Qualification Criteria  

1. 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development. 
2. Strong understanding of Python programming language & related libraries/framework [for example - Pandas, Fast, Flask, matplotlib] 
3. Strong understanding of databases, data modelling & SQL [for example, PostgreSQL, MySQL] 
4. Experience with Git & modern version control workflows. 
5. Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, & object-oriented design. 
6. Solid experience designing & consuming REST APIs 
7. Ability to work independently & take ownership in a remote setup 

It's a Plus if you also have: 

1. Exposure to AI/ML pipelines /applications. 
2. Familiarity with cloud computing services [e.g. AWS, Azure] 
3. Experience with containerization technologies [e.g. Docker, Kubernetes] 
4. Experience with agile software development methodologies [e.g. Scrum, Kanban] 

Interpersonal Skills 

1. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment & communicate effectively with technical & non-technical stakeholders. 
2. Strong problem-solving skills & attention to detail. 
3. A strong desire to learn & grow as a developer. 
4. Excellent analytical skills, passion for the development of reliable & scalable solutions 
5. Deep analysis, efficient troubleshooting, & strategic thinking abilities
