Overview
*We are looking to recruit a senior IT specialist with expertise in the use and development of the OpenFOAM CFD toolset. Experience with https://github.com/cfddose/Splash or similar would be ideal.
The engineer will work closely with our teams in the UK (Bristol) and USA (California) to develop a freemium GUI-driven product for use with the OpenFOAM mesh generation tool snappyHexMesh, showcasing the application of the AFid AI / MV (machine vision) feature recognition product.
We are seeking a contract employee to start immediately, reporting via Bangalore.
Responsibilities and Duties: *
You will report to our Indian Project Lead for HR matters, and liaise with our technical specialists in the UK and USA. Software development will follow an Agile process, which will commence with the vertical Product Definition and Architecture, Implementation Plan and Sprint definition.
All work items will be managed via a shared Atlassian Jira board, using fortnightly sprints. Software will be curated in a private GitHub repository. Familiarity with these tools is assumed.
Qualifications and Skills
The suitable candidate will likely have a degree or advanced degree in science and / or computer software development with strong understanding of machine vision / robotics algorithms.
Cadidate in this role should be able to develop code to a professional standard in Python and C/C++ using a linux operating system.
An ability to communicate complex ideas and capabilities to end users of varying levels of seniority and technical expertise is welcome, but not essential.
We have a close-knit team, so skills in working with others are very important. Candidates who have some experience in successful collaborative working would be welcomed.
