Senior QA Analyst - UI and API testing automation

UST is seeking a Senior QA Analyst to join a leading financial services client in the US. The role requires strong expertise in UI and API testing automation, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with domain and technical experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze product test requirements and define testing strategies.
• Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test automation frameworks.
• Perform functional, regression, UAT, pre-Go Live, and Go-Live testing.
• Provide expert support in performance, stress, usability testing, and test automation.
• Review and provide feedback on test cases created by team members.
• Conduct software testing across applicable OS platforms using systems analysis techniques.
• Mentor and supervise test analysts and senior test analysts on QA activities.
• Collaborate with offshore teams (India) and coordinate with Development, Business, and Management teams throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance & Testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC (preferably Agile/Scrum/XP).
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in Sprint Teams.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Test Automation: Proven experience in automation (UI & API).
• Frameworks & Methodologies: Knowledge of test automation frameworks, BDD, TDD, and Gherkin specifications.
• APIs & Data Formats: Experience with REST services, JSON, and XML.
• Defect Tracking Tools: JIRA, JavaScript, Groovy.
• Automation Tools: JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium, TestNG, QTP, FlexUnit, LoadRunner, SoapUI.
• Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer.
• Databases: Strong SQL scripting skills; Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Developer, or equivalent tools.
• CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Git, Putty, WinSCP.

Preferred Experience

• Rolling out or contributing to test automation initiatives.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and build automation using Jenkins.
• Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities within QA teams.
