About the role:
What you will do
- Operate as a technical primary on assigned features and coordinate across teams to ensure requirements are met and implementation and execution are delivered with excellence.
- Design Kinaxis software components to support feature development, which may include multiple functional areas with complex design requirements.
- Identify, write, refactor, and implement significant features that span substantial areas of code and significant interdependencies.
- Log defects resulting from escalations and provide explanations for product behavior for multiple components. Suggest workarounds to customer support teams and resolve moderate to complex defects.
- Write effective functional and non-functional tests and augment test frameworks and tools to apply to features.
- Submit code for review and incorporate feedback. Review code of more junior developers, providing feedback and guidance.
- Actively engage with the team to develop and grow their skills through sharing experiences and results of research on the latest technology trends.
- Proactively seek opportunities to learn and develop, including participation in mentoring programs, technical training, attending conferences, etc.
- Keep apprised of technology trends and suggest opportunities to leverage them to accelerate R&D.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive software development experience in Java, and 2+ years working in an enterprise-grade software application, including experience leading development efforts on several features with advanced complexity.
- Experience with developing/testing micro-services in Java.
- Proficiency with open-source frameworks including Spring and Hibernate.
- Clear, concise, and professional communicator with the ability to present complex information and demonstrate knowledge with direct and indirect teams.
- Intermediate to advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make proposals and consider input from others to provide input into planning the best course of action.
- Knowledge of transactional systems like Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Logistics knowledge and understanding of supply chain processes.
Role Specific Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to write, refactor, and modify substantial areas of the code with significant interdependencies.
- Ability to solicit, productively discuss, and incorporate feedback from peers and provide meaningful constructive feedback to others.
- Demonstrate confidence with working in several testing frameworks and methodologies with limited guidance.
- Knowledge of test frameworks and tools. Ability to discern a defect from an enhancement with the guidance of the Product Management team.
- Design skills that consider multiple perspectives and identify trade-offs.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, ability to manage workloads, and adapt to new technologies and requirements.
