We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Software Engineer – AI/ML to join our fast-growing engineering team. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of AI innovation and production-grade software, and is eager to shape cutting-edge AI solutions that scale. You will lead architecture, design, and delivery of intelligent systems, with a strong focus on large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and real-time applications.
What You'll Do
Problem Solving & AI Strategy
Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable AI/ML solutions.
Frame well-defined problem statements from abstract or evolving requirements and define measurable success criteria.
Lead feasibility assessments and technical scoping for AI initiatives, from R&D to production.
Architecture & Innovation
Architect end-to-end AI solutions, particularly involving GenAI workflows, LLMs, and multi-agent systems.
Design systems that incorporate context management, prompt optimization, memory storage, and tool orchestration.
Drive the rapid prototyping of AI components to validate model choices and solution directions.
Engineering Excellence
Write high-performance, maintainable code in Python and at least one of Java, Go, or C++.
Build CI/CD pipelines, enforce automated testing practices, and integrate MLOps workflows for continuous delivery.
Scale inference pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Optimize systems for cost, latency, and throughput with performance-aware designs.
Monitoring & Operational Maturity
Set up monitoring frameworks for AI systems, tracking latency, usage, model drift, and system health.
Define alerts, dashboards, and error recovery strategies using observability tools like Prometheus, Datadog, or Grafana.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
Act as a mentor and technical lead for mid-level and junior engineers, fostering growth and ownership.
Facilitate design reviews, share domain expertise through internal talks, and promote best engineering practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, data science, and product for cohesive delivery.
What You Bring
✅ Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in backend/software engineering, including 3+ years in AI/ML-focused development.
Strong programming expertise in Python and one or more of Java, Go, or C++.
Demonstrated experience deploying AI applications at scale in production environments.
Deep understanding of LLM architectures, GenAI tools, and conversational agent design.
Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid foundation in machine learning concepts, system design, and distributed architecture.
Experience with CI/CD, testing frameworks, and modern MLOps tools.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building agentic AI workflows with frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar.
Familiarity with open-source LLMs (e.g., Hugging Face, LLaMA, Mistral) and fine-tuning techniques.
Exposure to ASR (Speech-to-Text), TTS (Text-to-Speech), and multimodal AI applications.
Hands-on experience with Twilio Autopilot, Dialogflow, Amazon Lex, or other voice AI platforms.
Knowledge of GenAI evaluation frameworks like Weights & Biases, CometML, or custom evaluation suites.
Contributions to research, publications, or patents in AI/ML are a plus.
