We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer – Oracle DBA to join our dynamic team and play a key role in managing and maintaining our enterprise-level database environments.
This position requires deep technical expertise in Oracle databases, MongoDB, and related technologies to support high-availability systems, database performance optimization, and seamless scalability across critical business functions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure optimal Oracle database availability and response times by diagnosing and resolving issues in a multi-datacenter environment
- Proactively monitor database performance and availability to identify potential issues
- Provide effective problem resolution for database incidents during scheduled and off-hour periods
- Configure and deploy business-critical databases based on user and development team requirements
- Ensure compliance with audit, security, and regulatory standards across all database systems
- Offer support for complex software installations, maintenance tasks, and major upgrades
- Guarantee data security, integrity, and recovery through alignment with organizational policies
- Oversee data replication, backup, and availability solutions across both Oracle and MongoDB environments
- Configure and optimize MongoDB replica sets, including user authentication and management
- Perform disaster recovery testing, failover, and switchover activities with zero downtime
- Provide high-availability solutions and disk optimization for MongoDB production servers
- Review and create indexes on Oracle and MongoDB to improve database performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an enterprise Oracle DBA
- Strong Oracle19C knowledge on VMware and Exadata, with expertise in Oracle ASM and RAC
- Proficiency with database tools such as SQL Developer, OEM/Grid, Toad, and Foglight
- Extensive experience in database and SQL tuning, patching, and life cycle methodologies
- Competency in physical and logical replication methods, including Quest Shareplex or Oracle Data Guard
- Skills in Linux, PL/SQL, and Oracle database versions up to the current release
- Expertise in MongoDB software installation and configuration, replica setup, and standalone-to-replica conversions
- Background in MongoDB DR testing, upgrades, switchover, and failover activities
- Understanding of MongoDB GUI interfaces and geospatial databases
- Familiarity with backing up and refreshing MS-SQL databases
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for resolving high-impact issues
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Azure SQL MI, Qlik, and Kafka
- Familiarity with Informatica, Databricks, and Starburst
- Experience with Azure cloud solutions
