Software Engineer III

About The Role

Forcepoint LLC is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III with over 5 years of experience in software development, system deployment, and troubleshooting at scale. The ideal candidate is proficient in C and C++, with additional experience in Python, JavaScript, Go and Linux environments. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in collaborative, geo-distributed teams and is passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features and maintain existing functionality in public cloud infrastructure.
• Debug complex product-level issues and security vulnerabilities, identifying root causes across components.
• Write and maintain unit and component tests for production-level code.
• Respond to customer escalations with effective, timely solutions.
• Participate in requirement analysis, estimation, and breakdown of epics into actionable stories and tasks.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams across different time zones.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of large-scale cloud services and applications.
• Enhance test automation frameworks across functional and performance domains.
• Continuously improve software delivery processes, including code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
• Proficiency in C and C++ (mandatory); experience with Go, Python, and JavaScript is a plus.
• Strong understanding of web APIs and protocols (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DNS, HTTP).
• Experience with multi-threaded application development on Linux.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum.
• Proficient in Git and version control workflows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
  

• Understanding of network proxies and security concepts (encryption, secure coding, web security, etc.).
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other public cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of virtualization and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience automating cloud deployments using IaaS and PaaS.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and scripting tools (bash, perl, awk, sed, grep).
• Exposure to enterprise networking environments and data storage technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, Key/Value stores).
• Ability to lead cross-functional feature development across architectural teams.
