What to expect from the role
- As a QA Automation Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality through rigorous testing.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks to streamline the testing process.
- Validate system behavior and business requirements through API testing.
- Debug issues, analyze test results, and assist in delivering functionally correct products.
- Ensure automated tests are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, review, and maintain automated test cases for new and existing functionalities.
- Perform API, UI, and performance testing for end-to-end product quality.
- Build automation frameworks from scratch or enhance existing frameworks for new feature rollouts.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects using server-side logs and debugging tools.
- Work closely with the DevOps team to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Actively participate in sprint planning and share testing strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-8 years of experience in QA automation and manual testing.
- Proficiency in test management tools like JIRA and automation frameworks like Rest Assured, Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, and Appium.
- Strong knowledge of Java, data structures, and object-oriented programming (OOP).
- Experience in API automation testing using Rest Assured and Java.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, UNIX/Linux systems.
- Good knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Good understanding of debugging issues and checking logs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
