Overview
You will work on a major content database project in Data & Analytics Engineering vertical, which is migrating to cloud and its business enhancements projects. Responsibility includes ensuring use of appropriate technologies that helps to drive initiatives which brings customer value and operational efficiency. Close collaboration with architects, vendors/partners is required to make effective technical choices which aligns to the overall architecture of our products. Mentoring members of the team and working alongside the team management to ensure that the team has the capabilities it needs to deliver is an expectation for this role.
Role Summary
As a Technical Lead, drive the design and development of high-quality software solutions across front-end and back-end systems, ensuring alignment with LSEG guidelines. Guide a team of developers and collaborate across functions to enable architectural decisions, project planning and delivery. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to deliver robust, scalable solutions with minimal defects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse, Design, Code, Build - crafting front end and backend components as per LSEG guidelines.
- Guide team and collaborate efficiently to deliver high quality projects.
- Efficiently facilitate specification and design brainstorming sessions for larger projects.
- Work in cross-team modules on new & improving existing features and bug fixes.
- Craft relevant and critical capabilities with the highest quality of results ensuring minimal or no defect leakages.
- Improve or fix issues in existing software or integrate software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications provided by business.
- Build and perform unit testing and integration testing ensuring module meets requirements.
- Timely and efficient technical assistance to operations or other development teams.
- Build and maintain all required user documentation / manual related to assigned components to ensure supportability.
- Design problem solutions or software improvements adhering to application architecture.
- Review work of peers and junior developers.
- Experience in prioritising multiple requirements at a time and as a member of the project team(s) or as part of a specialist cross-project team on multiple developments.
- Assist in planning and estimating the project work.
- Awareness on industry standard methodologies and latest development and design principles would be a desired value addition.
- Provide efficient and accurate status updates for scope of work assigned.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in Microsoft C#.NET, Web and Windows applications and services, REST APIs, XML, XSD, XSLT, MS SQL server.
- Good knowledge of TIBCO Rendezvous, Active MQ and Elastic Search.
- Excellent hands-on experience in solution design, application development using OOPs, shown principles, and design patterns.
- Proficient in tools such as GIT, Jenkins, JIRA.
- Experience in Agile, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development is a plus.
- Knowledge in developing cloud / distributed application development.
- Certification in Microsoft technologies such as Azure is desirable.
- 8-12 years of software development experience.
- Experience in handling large projects involving multiple systems.
- Working experience with team members across geographical boundaries.
